About Our Shoes

Our inspiration

Pitta-Patta Shoes
Babies and kiddies love walking bare foot. And frankly “Barefoot is Best”. However,
this is not always practical or possible. That is why we have designed our baby shoes to give your child the closest feel to walking bare foot.

Our design

Flexible soles give these little growing feet the perfect environment to develop and strengthen while learning to walk.  In a nutshell “ No support is all they need”. Little feet get really hot because they exert a lot of energy, so it’s important that the shoe allows the feet to ‘breathe.’ A shoe made with unlined leather is ideal for a baby and toddler. At Pitta-Patta, all our shoes are unlined, (so they absorb the moisture and then keep the feet cool), and they sport a soft, flexible, slip-resistant suede sole. The leather used is great for crawling and toddling, great for indoor use and light outdoor use. Abrasive surfaces, extended periods in a walking ring and those plastic scooters tend to reduce the lifespan of the shoes. The shoe / decorations / colour(s) might be damaged due to crawling/outside wear/water and such damages will not be deemed to be a defect of our product. Please feel free to contact us on [email protected] if you feel uncertain of where and how the shoes can be worn.

Shoe fit

The first few pairs of shoes a baby wears will only fit for an average of six months. Remember that shoes tend to vary from brand to brand. Our size chart will assist you in choosing the correct size. The shoes should go on easily, and between the big toe and the front of the shoe, there should be a space of between 5 and 7 mm, when the child is standing.

Shoe shape

Are your shoes looking a little wonky, as if they were specifically designed for left or right feet? No worries, it’s just because some leather pieces (upper or sole) can be thicker in certain areas. But here’s the good news: our shoesies are shaped exactly the same and are suitable for any foot!
If you find the rounded edges to be slightly misshapen, a simple solution awaits: Just give the seams a rigorous roll between your fingers, and they should even out nicely. You’ll be amazed at the transformation!
And here’s an added bonus: as your child continues to wear our shoes, they will naturally mold to their precious feet. So, not only will they look adorable, but they’ll also provide optimum comfort and support.
Get ready for some seriously stylish and snug footwear!

Flat feet

When a baby is born his or her feet are quite flat but as the baby grows and learns to walk unaided, arches develop on the inner edges of the feet. The fatty pads which normally fill this area slowly disappear. These arches are formed as the muscles of the feet and legs strengthen and develop. Arches don’t usually appear until the child reaches the age of three or four years. If those arches do not develop properly for any reason then the child will have flat feet.
